For Trisha...

It's starting to feel like spring....ahhh...the sun is out & shining just for me!  Okay, it's there for all to enjoy...so get out & enjoy it!  (After you read or comment on this blog of course!)

So today's blog entry is for my friend Trisha who texted me earlier to ask for the link to this blog mission.  Trisha, here ya go...

May 1st just can't get here fast enough, but yet I also need more time to plan out these weeks.  I didn't realize how much planning was really going to be required here...oh & money.  But I am not defeated.  I'm looking forward to the challenge of making these weekly missions come to life.  I'm looking forward to going for chicken & waffles at Sylvia's, for frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, to hostessing a tea party, to going to see a Broadway play, to going to Madame Tussaud's, to going to the Smithsonian Museums, to walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, to having a picnic in the park & all the other missions I want to do.  I'm just looking forward to seeing if I can plan all these weeks without going crazy!!

Trisha, thanks for the laughs over this list.  I know you are going to make me laugh even more at any weekly mission you get invited to...which I'm expecting is going to be several!!  So be prepared for the fun...because I expect there is plenty of it to be had!

By the way, my friend Trisha gave up playing on Facebook for Lent.  Cheer her on...she is doing a great job!  I figured she would cave...shows how little faith I have in her...sorry Trisha.  But you are missed on Facebook.  I'll tell everyone you said hello.  We'll see you when Lent is over.  Till then, follow the blog!!!  You have several entries to read through.

Nothing new to add to the list, but I will post it below.  There is still time to make suggestions for the list.  I'm still not fully decided on my 20 picks.  So get creative.  Have fun with it.  Think of something I need to do to celebrate turning 40.

It's way too early to be blogging....but here goes...

It's been a long week.  I've been feeling a little sick & the weather is making me crazy, warm, cold, warm, rainy...oy!  I need a break...so I blog...

May can't get here fast enough.  I am excited about doing these 40 weeks.  40 celebrations just for me!  How vain is that?!?!?!  I'm going to enjoy myself!!!  40 is really  looking good!!!

So I've been trying to get my 20 picks planned out.  There are some definite dates set & I'm really looking forward to them.  And then there are issues with trying to get people to clear their schedules just for me...again, there is that vanity issue.

Already set...
# 55 go to Sylvia's in Harlem for chicken & wings...oh yes, this was planned as soon as it made the list.  My friend Aisha is joining me for this one.  We are going to celebrate both of our birthdays as we are a few weeks apart.  This is actually my gift to her.  She is a great friend & has been really supportive about this whole 40 weeks mission.

#11 hostess a tea party...this will probably end up being the most expensive mission!  I have been trying to get everything just perfect for this one.  I even bought a set of fine China teacups & saucers...spent way too much money for them, but you only live once & you can't take the money with you when you die...so live it up!  I even found some cute party favors & a fun craft project to be do at the party.  And I'm enjoying testing out various teas just to make sure I serve the right flavor.

# 3 go for frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity in NYC...not too costly & luckily I can grab friends at any time to do this one.  I doubt I'll have to worry about clearing anyone's schedules for this one.  Plus several people have already asked if they could go for this one.

#19 karaoke night with some friends...this is going to be the big party night!  Somehow I see this one ending with me on You Tube!  But I am really looking forward to this event.  I have a feeling it's going to be the best birthday party ever!!!  And luckily I have friends amped up about this mission...although I think it's only because they want to see me make a fool out of myself!

#29 walk across the Brooklyn Bridge...I'm looking forward to a great weather day for this one.  I love the views around NY & Brooklyn boasts a lot of beauty.  I am looking forward to checking out the park nearby.  I heard it's been redone & should be worth some photos.

Awaiting ticket purchases...
#138 go to a Cirque de Soleil show
#139 go see 'The Lion King' on Broadway
#141 Madame Tussaud's in NYC
#142 Magical Nights magic show & dinner
#146 go see 'Blue Man Group'
#127 take a Hudson River Cruise
#69 go to the circus
A few aren't too bad...but NYC theater isn't cheap.  I have to see if people are going to want to go with me...especially once I tell them the costs for some of these tickets.  Although I get some good prices through this discount place my company orders from...so maybe it won't be too bad.

And I'm trying to work out some issues...
#15 get 40 people together for a picnic in the park...oy!  Where do I even start on this one?  I already had the park & precise location picked out.  Then I find out I need a permit if 40 people show up...so I ask my friends via a Facebook post what weekend in June works for everyone.  That's when the drama started.  No one was happy about the park I picked.  Oh well.  Too bad.  I'm not changing my plan.  I just might not be able to get 40 people together, but I'm still going to have fun.  Apparently my friends have forgotten that I am a Taurus & I can be rather stubborn!

#52 trip to the Smithsonian Museums in Washington, DC...this could be a problem as I might need a few days for this one.  That will include hotel & travel & food expenses.  I'm going to make this one work.  I grew up watching 'All in the Family' & I'm itching to see Archie Bunker's chair.  Plus I love 'The Wizard of Oz' & would love to see the ruby red slippers Judy Garland wore.  I hear she had small feet.  The museums are huge & offer lots to see.  I'm going to have to map out each museum to be sure I see it all.  So yes, this one needs more planning.

# 81 Howe Caverns...this one only has a travel issue.  The cost is not too bad.  Getting there & back is my problem.  I don't have a car...oh right, I also don't have a drivers license.  Yup, that is the bigger problem here.  But I want to work this one out.  I keep checking out the site & I really want to get there.

By the way, I have been looking into selling some things on ebay to help fund these weeks.  Anyone else sell on ebay?  Or on any other site?  I was looking for some tips & feedback.  Thanks!
